English born, Janice Sylvia Brock now divides her year between studios, one on a leafy hillside in Cheshire, UK, and the other in Barbados, where it sits on a rocky outcrop overlooking the ocean, and is a great source of inspiration. Visitors are welcome at either studio by appointment.
In the UK she has a well established reputation and patrons of her recent exhibitions include the Marquis of Bath and the Prince of Wales. She has recently been made an Honorary Fellow of the North West Academy of Arts, and is a member of the exclusive Chelsea Arts Club (founded by Whistler in 1891).
In Barbados in the last three years she has donated four of her paintings for auction by local charities and between them they raised over US$150,000. |
